From Proven Formula to Expanded, Full-Scale Production

  • Toll Blending
  • Chemical Manufacturing
  • Automotive Aftermarket

The Challenge

A manufacturer and distributor in the automotive replacement glass industry had spent a decade refining a proprietary glass cleaner, engineered to clean effectively without harming rubber molding and to pass the industry's performance tests. As demand grew, their small toll blender couldn't keep pace. And with no chemists on staff, the client had no way to adapt when customers began asking for liquid alternatives to aerosols.

What We Did

Superior Manufacturing's chemists evaluated the existing formula and developed three distinct formulations: one to replace the legacy bulk liquid, and two to meet the demand for aerosol alternatives. All three were field-tested and validated, then packaged in quarts, gallons, and bulk containers for distribution across the U.S. and Canada.

The Outcome

Production scaled from a bottlenecked small-batch operation to 7,500–15,000 gallons per month. With three market-ready formulations and a fulfillment system behind them, the client gained the capacity to grow without changing the brand their customers knew and trusted.

Two Sourcing Problems. One Partner. Both Products Under Their Label.

  • Private Labeling
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Automotive MRO

THE CHALLENGE

A global automotive MRO distributor came to Superior Manufacturing with two problems: they needed a citrus-based cleaner degreaser compliant across all 50 states — including California's strict environmental standards — and their longtime supplier for a wire and rope lubricant had gone out of business. Both products needed to carry the distributor's own label and serve both the U.S. and Canadian markets.

WHAT WE DID

Superior developed a citrus degreaser that met California's environmental requirements without sacrificing performance in demanding shop environments, and no regional variants needed. For the lubricant, we stepped in as the new source, matching the product spec exactly. Both moved through the client's rigorous internal approval process and passed — and both came back with lead times shorter than what the client had before.

THE OUTCOME

Two urgent gaps turned into a partnership. Both products are now active across U.S. and Canadian markets, and the distributor continues to bring Superior new products to evaluate — finding a manufacturer rigorous enough to meet their standards and invested enough to show up like a partner, not just a vendor.

Fewer Falls. Lower Claims. A Solution Built to Last 20 Years.

  • Safeguard Distribution
  • Facility Safety
  • Walmart

THE CHALLENGE

In Walmart's refrigerated and cold-storage distribution centers, some up to two million square feet large, metal walkways and stairways were becoming a persistent safety liability. Moisture, humidity, and oily conditions made surfaces dangerously slippery. Injuries were happening, workers' compensation claims were adding up, and full stairway replacement wasn't a practical answer.

WHAT WE DID

As one of Safeguard's largest U.S. distributors, Superior Manufacturing walked Walmart's facilities team through a structured evaluation: each stairway and walkway assessed for environment and the proper individual solution for each area. Products were custom-cut to size, manufactured to retrofit over existing metal surfaces, and produced in multiple colors — including glow-in-the-dark for power-outage safety. Walmart's own maintenance team handled installation, eliminating outside labor costs entirely.

THE OUTCOME

Slips, falls, and workers' comp claims dropped across the treated facilities. The retrofitted solution was a fraction of the cost of replacing existing stairs and walkways with new material. With a product lifespan of 10 to 20 years, it's also not a problem that needs revisiting. Walmart has since engaged Superior Manufacturing to assess additional locations — retail stores, auto centers, and other high-risk facilities — expanding the relationship beyond the original distribution centers.
